VMware Horizon 8 New Features

Horizon 8 2006

On August 6, 2020, VMware announced innovations to Horizon, giving a modern platform for secure delivery of virtual desktops and applications across the hybrid cloud. The Horizon 8 release includes:

  • Deployment Options when you setup a new pod
    • Horizon on Azure VMware Solution on Day 0 of Azure VMware Solution availability
    • AWS (either VMware Cloud on AWS, or EC2 Native)
    • Horizon on Google Cloud VMware Engine
    • Horizon on VMware Cloud™ on Dell EMC
    • Oracle Cloud (the Oracle Cloud on VMware Engine)

  • New REST APIs to enable automation and orchestration of Horizon administration functions
